"Passengers face more train delay misery
Jan 3 2008

THOUSANDS of rail passengers from Coventry and Warwickshire were today again facing huge delays as engineering works continue to cause chaos.

Work by Network Rail to upgrade Rugby train station on the West Coast Main Line should have been completed by Monday, but so far it has overrun by four days.

Passengers travelling from Coventry have had to use a replacement bus service to Northampton for connections to London, adding about two hours to journey times.
The disruption has also affected travellers from Warwickshire using the West Coast line through Coventry and Rugby heading for London.

Yesterday, Network Rail could not say when the works would be completed and refused to comment on reports that the line would not be operating normally until next Monday.

One employee from Network Rail, who did not wish to be named, was himself caught up in the rail chaos. He said: "I have already been travelling for more than an hour and I still have to get a bus to Rugby.

"I will be at least two hours late for work - the whole thing is a complete joke."

On top of the delays, more misery was caused when Birmingham International railway station was evacuated yesterday after a fire broke out in a kitchen.

So just to clarify folks, we now have genocide in Darfur, human trafficking, exploitation, famine, global warming, child abuse, racism, religeous intollorance, good ol' fashioned random rapes and murders and several days of train delays, not to mention kitchen fires... where will it all end?
